This is screening rather than treatment, and the volume is high: a station sees more people in a week than many clinics see in a month. Predictable hours and no night shift.
What the Work Involves
Support the medical evaluation every applicant goes through before they can serve. Schedule and prepare examinations, take and record vitals, manage medical records and consultations, and keep the day moving so that a room of people who arrived at five in the morning are seen and sent home.
Most applicants are eighteen and have never had a physical that mattered. A good part of the job is explaining what is happening next.
Qualifications
Positions range from medical administrative assistants and technicians through to licensed clinical staff. The administrative roles are trainable on the job; the clinical ones carry the licence requirements you would expect.
