CareerStation is a public information site about civilian careers at the military entrance processing stations. Reading it requires no account and no sign in.

What Is Collected

What you volunteer. If you fill in the Stay in Touch form, we keep your name, your email address, the career fields you selected, what you asked to hear about, and a location if you gave one. That is the whole of it, and every field is one you filled in yourself.

How the site is used. Which pages are read, which links are followed, roughly where visitors are in the world, and what kind of browser and device they use. This is counted in aggregate to understand which pages are working.

How It Is Used

What you volunteer is used to tell you about an opening or an event that matches what you said interests you. Aggregate measurement is used to decide what to write and what to improve.

Neither is used to score, rank, or assess you, and neither plays any part in a hiring decision. Hiring decisions are made on an application submitted through USAJOBS.

Cookies and Measurement

The site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser so that repeat visits can be counted as one visitor rather than several. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, the analytics tag is not loaded at all and nothing about your visit is counted.

Nothing you type into a form is sent to Google, and the measurement is not connected to it.

Who It Is Shared With

Interest submissions are read by the administrators who operate the recruiting list. They are held in the system this site’s content is managed in, which is not reachable from the public internet.

Aggregate measurement is processed by Google under their terms. Map tiles are served by CARTO and Esri, which observe the requesting address in the way any content delivery network does.

How It Is Protected

Every page and every form submission travels over HTTPS. What you send is stored encrypted, in a private network with no route from the internet, and reached only by the administrators who need it.

Other Sites

Links leaving this site, including every link to an announcement on USAJOBS, are governed by the privacy notice of the site you arrive at rather than by this one.

No Applications

Applications, resumes, transcripts, and eligibility documents are handled by USAJOBS, which is the federal system of record for federal hiring. CareerStation never receives them and keeps no record of who applied for what.

Changes to This Notice

If what is collected changes, this page changes with it, before the change takes effect rather than after.
