SkillBridge
Industry experience for service members in their final months before separation.
SkillBridge lets a service member spend up to their final one hundred and eighty days of service working at a civilian organisation, on military pay, with the unit still carrying them. A processing station is an unusual placement in that the work is federal from the first day, so a placement that goes well can end in a job offer before separation.
Placements exist in logistics, information technology, human resources, and administration.
The first step is your command, not us: the placement needs unit approval, and that conversation is easier at one hundred and eighty days than at ninety.
